My Approach
Even though I am a doctor in psychology, my perspective applies the saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Instead of using labels and classifications I adopt a global, integrative and pragmatic practice, recognizing the need to adapt to the person, the situation, the moment. I intervene with people and schools / companies who want to overcome certain difficulties, but who wish to limit their occurrence, and who want to flourish.
My approach, as a Canadian psychologist in Morocco, draws its foundations from social psychology and community psychology, and psychoeducation. These do not focus only on the person in his/her individuality, but emphasize that one's development, his/her way of thinking, feeling, and acting are in constant interaction with the different surrounding environments (in terms of both physical and human aspects).
In addition, I am very inspired by the current of positive psychology, which emphasizes the consolidation and enhancement of the strengths of individuals and institutions. From my heart, I am a humanist, actively listening and empathizing to better understand people's experiences. My principal tool to addressing trauma is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
Finally, my mindful and caring approach aims to contribute at different levels to the development of empowerment and the promotion of wellness and social justice.
